Communities across America are losing access to reliable local news and slowly—or quickly—becoming news deserts.
Southern Arizona is no exception, as traditional media outlets downsize and lose local focus. In their place, an array of homegrown nonprofits and businesses are forming and evolving to meet the information needs of our communities.
In partnership with local civic leaders working on solutions to the local news crisis, the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona has launched the Local News Initiative of Southern Arizona.
This initiative aims to raise local and national philanthropic support to help ensure all communities get the robust local reporting, essential news, and reliable civic information they need to be informed, empowered, and engaged in our community.
Your gift helps meet the needs of our community for accurate, timely, and relevant information. Thank you!
