It is essential that nonprofit organizations keep up with best practices and find the means to learn new skills and develop their workforce and governing boards as they work to fulfill their missions.
The Center for Healthy Nonprofits, an initiative of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, works to strengthen the Southern Arizona nonprofit community by offering free and low-cost capacity-building workshops and training for nonprofit professionals and volunteers.

Work in the nonprofit sector presents unique challenges, often stemming from too few resources; our goal is to help fill that resource gap.
While nonprofit professionals and their boards of directors and volunteers share a passion for their organizational mission, very few come to their nonprofit roles with all the knowledge and experience necessary to handle the diversity of roles they must play. We are deeply committed to investing in the hopes, dreams, and talents of the people leading our community’s nonprofits. Consequently, we provide professional and organizational development in a culture that values lifelong learning and collaboration.
About the Center's Programs
The Center for Healthy Nonprofits was launched in January 2020, leveraging a successful track record of conducting thirty-five free and low-cost training programs for nonprofit leaders on the CF Campus during 2019.
The Center’s inaugural year got off to a great start, but then COVID-19 hit, and the Center needed to convert all the in-person programs to Zoom. We didn’t miss a beat and the nonprofit community responded by registering and actively participating in the programs online.
The Center’s upcoming training programs include a variety of workshops, roundtables and seminars featuring both “hot topics” and basic nonprofit management and leadership curricula.
By tapping into the rich resource of the nonprofit consulting community in Southern Arizona, as well as nationally recognized experts, presenters will provide valuable guidance and insights with practical application in organizations of all sizes.
