2024 Alliance Grantee- Kindred Connections Collective

We can’t express our gratitude enough for your support of our Radical Roots Retreat. This funding will have a huge impact in allowing us to cover the majority of the costs of this retreat and provide an event centered on QTBIPOC wellness and joy. Too often events for QTBIPOC still require the investment of labor or money from those it benefits, things we tend not to have an excess of. Thus we have immense pride in being able to provide this retreat, along with all of our programming, free of cost to those attending. This retreat will be an opportunity for our QTBIPOC community to thrive instead of solely surviving and to uplift joy and rest.

— Viko Velazquez, Core Member at Kindred Connections Collective
2024 Alliance Grantee- Pima Council on Aging

This valuable collaboration enhances Pima Council on Aging's ability to offer our Visibility Matters program effectively, ensuring that aging care and health facilities are equipped with the information and resources needed to recognize and improve the quality and equity of care for older LGBTQI+ adults.

— Halley Torres, Grants and Contracts Specialist at Pima Council on Aging
2024 Alliance Grantee- La Linea Art Studio

This is an unprecedented opportunity for our organization and LGBTQ+ community members in Santa Cruz County. Receiving this funding means that continued LGBTQ+ programming is possible and we will be able to provide a container as well as a community of support. We believe this could be a life-saving opportunity for many and are extremely grateful for the ability to create this offering for our artists and the wider spectrum of queer individuals who reside here- so we may all thrive.

— Aissa Huerta, Director at La Linea Art Studio
2024 Alliance Grantee- QTFC

"We are so excited to be recipients of this grant! QTFC is going on to its third year of hosting a space for LGBTQIA+ youth to play soccer and build community. These funds will allow us to build our programming to support and uplift more youth across Tucson."

— Sasha Timpson, Project Coordinator at Queer & Trans Football Club
2024 Alliance Grantee- BOSS

Receiving the Alliance Fund grant is a real game changer for us financially, of course, but also mentally! It shows us that as trans and queer builders and makers, we are supported by our community, and the space we are cultivating is needed! It means we will be able to offer more training sessions and actual safe space for Women, Queer, Trans, and Femme of Center folx who want to build and learn to make. We will be able to continue to work with community partners, like the Outlaw Project, and host volunteer and learn days as we build housing for trans women of color! We can feel that we are not doing this alone and it is inspiring and invigorating to know that Building Out Safer Spaces and Skills Sets is seen and valued. Thank you!

— TC Tolbert, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director at Building Out Safer Spaces and Skill Sets
2024 Alliance Grantee- Southern Arizona Senior Pride

"By offering crucial operational funding, the Alliance Fund supports Senior Pride in providing essential social and supportive programs. The notable 32% surge in individual interactions from the previous year underscores the increasing needs of older LGBTQI+ adults throughout Southern Arizona. The Alliance Fund enables Senior Pride to meet the needs by growing and expanding social and supportive programming, which benefits not only the recipients but also serve to fortify and enhance the broader community, fostering a more supportive and inclusive environment for all."

— Mary O'Donoghue, Executive Director at Southern Arizona Senior Pride
