2021-2022 Scholarship Applications Open January 4th

Donors who are committed to expanding access to higher education make it possible for CFSA to offer dozens of scholarship opportunities every year.  The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is proud to announce that multiple scholarship opportunities for Southern Arizona high school seniors and college students will open on January 4, 2021.

Important Dates:

January 4, 2021: Applications Open
February 26, 2021: Applications Due
January-March 2021: Applications Reviewed
May 2021: Recipients Notified

CFSA General Scholarships

The CFSA General Scholarship application includes applications for the CFSA General Scholarship, the Pauline Miguel Scholarship and the Boilard-Harkin Scholarship.

This CFSA General Scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years, provided GPA and enrollment eligibility are maintained by the recipient.  The first year award is $2,000.  The second year award is $2,500.  The third and fourth year award amount is $4,000 per year.  The scholarship may be used at community college or 4-year university.  Students transferring from community college to university may carry the scholarship with them. The Pauline Miguel and Boilard-Harkin Scholarships have separate criteria that are explained in the application.

African American Educational Equity Scholarship

The African American Educational Equity Fund was established to provide higher education scholarship support specifically to African American students living in the Tucson metropolitan area. Scholarships will be limited to one academic year; however, students may apply for consecutive years.  This scholarship awards $2,000 to recipients who must generally be enrolled as full-time students. Applications will also be accepted from part-time students.

Marge Christensen Gould Memorial Scholarship

The Marge Christensen Gould Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Marge Gould. A former Catalina High School teacher and coordinator their LEARN Program (an alternative literacy and workplace skills program for at-risk students). In this program students, many of whom were refugees or immigrants, were allowed to learn based on their own abilities and treated as valued individuals. This scholarship is intended to continue that legacy. One scholarship of $1,500 will be granted annually to a graduating senior from Catalina, Sunnyside, Desert View or Star Academic High Schools. Scholarships are renewable for one additional year.

CFSA Corporate Scholarship (Eligibility Verification Required)

The CFSA Corporate Scholarship Application provides a single application for students applying for corporate scholarship programs through their employers (or employers of parents/relatives) who have established scholarship funds at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. This application may be used ONLY by those eligible to receive one of the following scholarships:

• Skyline Country Club Scholarship
• Splendido Residents Association Scholarship
• Pizza Hut of Arizona Scholarship
• Betty Smedley Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility criteria for each scholarship are included in the application.
