Center for Healthy Nonprofits Launches New Workshops in Sierra Vista, Green Valley, Sahuarita and Yuma

CFSA’s Center for Healthy Nonprofits is always looking for ways to fill resource gaps faced by our region’s nonprofits. By offering free and low-cost capacity-building workshops and training for nonprofit professionals and volunteers, the Center is helping ensure the sustainability and efficacy of the nonprofit community in Southern Arizona.

Sessions are regularly offered on Zoom to reduce barriers to participation especially for nonprofits outside of Tucson. However, we know some things are best done in person.

That is why the Center is proud to announce two new series that will extend its reach to nonprofits based in Sierra Vista, Green Valley, Sahuarita, and Yuma.

Good Governance is a Team Sport!

Targeted toward nonprofit board members and the staff members who interact with and support the board and its committees, this three-hour workshop provides attendees with tools and insights that will help boards govern more effectively.

Recognizing that service on a nonprofit board is often likened to a “team sport,” the Good Governance workshop focuses on collaboration, shared goals, and coordinated efforts. Topics covered will include established governance best practices, partnerships between the Executive Director/CEO and Board Members, keys to leadership, role clarity, positive board culture, and ways to utilize self-evaluation of the board’s performance and effectiveness.

Facilitated by Lynda Weigel-Firor, a seasoned independent grant writer and consultant with over 25 years of experience, Lynda will show attendees how to build a comprehensive grant “vault” that ensures easy access to essential information for crafting compelling proposals.
