The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is now accepting grant applications to support refugees, veterans, and student career development through the Phil and Carol Lyons Family Fund, a donor advised fund of CFSA, and the Lyons Children’s Refugee Assistance Program, a field of interest fund of CFSA.
Lyons Children’s Refugee Assistance Program
CFSA invites nonprofit organizations in Tucson to submit an application for programs/projects that serve refugees children and families to address their most urgent needs for example: Behavioral and health support, K-12 refugee education, medical case management, employment opportunities, emergency housing/rental support, and support to gain citizenship.
Proposals must fall within established guidelines; only one application will be accepted per organization and are limited to a maximum of $5,000. The grant period is for one year: October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022.
Applications open on Monday, July 19, 2021, and the deadline to submit grant applications is Friday, August 20, 2021 at 5 p.m.

Phil and Carol Lyons Family Fund Grants
The Lyons’ family invites nonprofit organizations in Tucson and Flagstaff to submit an application for programs/projects that align with one of the following focus areas:
- Programs/projects that help students and adults (especially from minority backgrounds, first-generation, traditionally underrepresented populations, economically disadvantaged, and single mothers) develop career advancement skills and employment opportunities in order to become self-sufficient, create economic opportunity and succeed in life.
- Programs/projects that help veterans and their families access services they need in order to thrive.
Proposals must fall within established guidelines; only one application will be accepted per organization and are limited to a maximum of $5,000. The grant period is for one year: October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022.
