Santa Cruz Community Foundation Announces Chris Young as New Advisory Board Chair

Santa Cruz Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Chris Young, Chief Deputy of the Santa Cruz County School Superintendent’s Office, has been appointed Chair of the SCCF Advisory Board. 

An affiliate of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, the Santa Cruz Community Foundation is a permanent charitable resource that was founded in 2001 by area residents to empower their community to invest in itself. SCCF assists Santa Cruz County in preparing for the future by strengthening the community through the awarding of scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations. To date, the Santa Cruz Community Foundation has distributed over $1.2 million to more than 65 unique nonprofit organizations in Santa Cruz County. 

“I am pleased and honored to be chosen to lead the Santa Cruz Community Foundation.  The SCCF Advisory Board and its donors have year after year provided Santa Cruz County nonprofit organizations with the financial support to be agents of change in our gorgeous community.  I am humbled to represent the SCCCF in its future projects focused on providing helping hands to the Santa Cruz County Community,” shared Chris.  

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Daniel Arana, who has served as Advisory Board Chair for the Santa Cruz Community Foundation since July 1, 2020. Under Daniel’s leadership, the Santa Cruz Community Foundation has contributed $115,000 to 29 nonprofits and awarded $8,000 in scholarships to students in Santa Cruz County. Daniel currently serves on CFSA’s Board of Trustees as Board Secretary and will continue to serve on the Santa Cruz Community Foundation’s Advisory Board.
