CFSA Staff Spotlight: Jeaiza Quiñones Ivory

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is excited to give you a chance to get to know our Board of Trustees and our Team through Board & Staff Spotlights!

Get to Know Jeaiza!

Jeaiza Quiñones Ivory is the Director of Community Investments at CFSA! Many of our nonprofit partners are probably familiar with Jeaiza, as she oversees CFSA’s Community Investments department, which includes grants (including CORE Grants), awards, scholarships, and funds such as the African American Legacy Fund and the Alliance Fund!

Fun Facts about Jeaiza:

If you could live anywhere, where would that be?
I’d live back home in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is a tie between Caribbean cuisine and Italian cuisine. There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal (unless you’re bribing me with pasta.)

What is your favorite book? Why?
My current favorite book (which always changes) is Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. It’s an incredibly well-written and super fun fantasy series featuring a Black protagonist. Growing up, Black girls didn’t have many opportunities to see ourselves in the protagonists of the stories we read. Now we do, and this book is a wonderful example of that.

What does your perfect vacation look like?
My perfect vacation looks like lots of lounging on the beach and lots of opportunities to eat good food.

What is the top item on your bucket list?
Right now, the item at the top of my bucket list is seeing Beyonce live in concert.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would definitely have some type of ability to speak to animals OR have power over the oceans/water.

What do you like most about working for CFSA?
I love that we have such a flexible work environment and that the organization works hard to adjust to the way that the world is changing. We are constantly learning, evolving, and growing.
