CFSA’s Chief Operating Officer Transitions to National Role

After nearly ten years of service to the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona and the Southern Arizona community, CFSA’s Chief Operating Officer Mark Montoya has accepted an exciting new position as Chief Experience Officer with the technology company AkoyaGO.

In addition to CFSA’s operations, Montoya provides staff leadership to the Santa Cruz Community Foundation, CFSA’s geographic affiliate, and management oversight of the Community Foundation Campus. Montoya’s success as Chief Operating Officer is a credit to his ability to couple detailed planning with an inclusive management style valued by CFSA’s staff and donors.

Montoya is a recognized leader in the community foundation field and served as Interim President and CEO at CFSA for eight months in 2021, allowing for continued stability and growth at a critical moment of transition for the Foundation.

“I cannot overstate Mark’s role in the growth of the Foundation over the last decade and how critical his support has been for me during my first four months with the organization,” shared CFSA President and CEO Jenny Flynn. “While his absence will be felt deeply at CFSA, we are thrilled that Mark’s new position will allow him to increase the philanthropic impact of community foundations throughout the country.”
