The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Alliance Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, is now accepting proposals for its 2019-2020 grant round from nonprofit organizations in southern Arizona. Proposals must fall within established guidelines, funding priority areas and are limited to a maximum of $5,000. However, in rare instances, when an organization is able to amply demonstrate that their agency or programs will have an extraordinary impact on the LGBTQ community, the Alliance Fund may consider awarding grants up to $10,000.
Application Information and Guidelines
The LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund makes grants in the following areas:
- LGBTQ Community Building and Collaborations
- Transgender Issues
- Youth and Elder Issues
- General Operating Support(Organizations whose mission/work is to primarily support the LGBTQ Community in Southern Arizona)
Applications should be submitted through Common Grant Application, a web-based platform for online grantmaking. Only one application per agency will be accepted. However, if you are a fiscal agent for an organization, these applications will be considered separately.

A “how to” workshop to help potential grantees complete the form will be held on February 19, 2019, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona’s CF Campus.

The Alliance Fund, which is a fund of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, has become known for making grants available at critical times during the development of an organization’s infrastructure. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, over the last 20 years the Alliance Fund has been able to distribute more than the $809,597 to support over 168 projects.
