LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund Grant

The LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund is now accepting grant applications.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Alliance Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, is now accepting proposals for its next grant round from nonprofit organizations in southern Arizona; applications will be accepted through February 21, 2020. Proposals must fall within established guidelines and funding priority areas and are limited to a maximum request of $5,000. However, in rare instances, when an organization can amply demonstrate that their agency or programs will have an extraordinary impact on the LGBTQ+ community, the Alliance Fund may consider awarding grants up to $10,000.

The Alliance Fund has become known for making grants available at critical times during the development of an organization’s infrastructure. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, over the last 20 years the Alliance Fund has been able to distribute more than the $873,397 to support over 182 projects.

Application Information and Guidelines

The LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund makes grants in the following areas:

  • LGBTQ+ Community Building and Collaborations
  • Transgender Issues
  • Youth and Elder Issues
  • General Operating Support (Organizations whose mission/work is to primarily support the LGBTQ+ Community in Southern Arizona)

Important Dates

  • January 10, 2020: Application open
  • January 22, 2020: Grant Info Session – CANCELLED
  • February 21, 2020: Application due
  • April 13-17, 2020: Site visits/interviews
  • Week of June 8th: Grant Recipients Notified
  • July 1, 2020: June 30, 2021: Grant Period
  • Fall 2020: Awards ceremony

When available, applications should be submitted through Common Grant Application, a web-based platform for online grantmaking. Only one application per agency will be accepted. However, if you are a fiscal agent for an organization, these applications will be considered separately.
