Healthcare workers continue to risk their safety while caring for fellow Arizonans during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Many of these individuals have children and are without childcare options due to school and daycare closures and social isolation requirements. “Receiving this grant will ensure El Rio Community Health’s employees have support for childcare while they continue to provide care to our 113,564 patients,” shared Brenda Goldsmith, Executive Director of El Rio Foundation.

Diapers, adult incontinence supplies, and sanitary products are a fundamental need for many of Southern Arizona’s most vulnerable community members, and limited access is a health concern.  “Since the start of this pandemic, we’ve seen an increase in emergency distributions, and we expect an increase in the number of requests to continue for the months ahead,” shared Dr. Shannon Roberts, CEO of the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona. “Grant funds will help the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona meet the increasing demand and keep our communities well.”

To date, generous donors, fundholders, local foundations and corporations, and community partners have committed more than $1.5 million to CFSA’s COVID-19 Response Funds.

COVID-19 Response Grants will continue to be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of COVID-19.

Many thanks to the generous donors, fundholders, local foundations and corporations, and community partners who contributed to these funds!
