The Betty Smedley Memorial Scholarship is a corporate scholarship established by members of the Smedley family in honor of the late Betty Smedley, who was a founding member and dedicated much of her life to Hughes Federal Credit Union.
Scholarships are offered for one academic year. Recipients may reapply for up to 4 years of funding, but scholarship renewal is not guaranteed. Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible for other CFSA-administered scholarships during the same academic year.
Scholarship Criteria
- Be the child or grandchild of an employee of Hughes Federal Credit Union.
- Qualifying individuals (employees) must have been employed for at least 6 months as of the application due date and have worked an average of at least 10 hours per week.
- Have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
