Supporting the APIDA Community in Southern Arizona

The Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Fund, a fund held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, strengthens and uplifts our communities in Southern Arizona, ensuring that both current and future generations can thrive.

We focus on building our communities through engagement and collaboration, connecting individuals and organizations to initiatives that educate against potential anti-Asian hate and harmful legislation. Additionally, we address our community’s health needs and create spaces for people to connect with and celebrate their APIDA heritage.

Establishing

The APIDA Fund

In October 2023, members of the APIDA community first gathered at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona to explore what a collaborative philanthropic effort for Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi Americans living in Southern Arizona could look like. After a series of community meetings, research, and planning, the fund formally opened in early 2025. Dozens of community members contributed their time, voices, and effort to establishing the APIDA Fund.
