The African American Legacy Fund (AALF) and the State of Black Arizona invite you to join us in a celebration of the 4th African American Leadership Institute cohort! The ceremony is scheduled for December 7th, to mark the culmination of an intensive 10-week masterclass program.

The 2024 AALI Cohort embraced the theme “Emotional Brilliance: Mastering EQ for Greater Equity”, focusing on the power of emotional intelligence to foster empathy, respect, and collaboration. Inspired by Farah Harris’s book, “The Color of Emotional Intelligence,” participants engaged in presentations, discussions, and exercises that challenged them to reflect on their experiences. Harris’s insights on emotional intelligence and its barriers equipped the cohort to lead with greater awareness and create more inclusive and equitable spaces.

“Emotional intelligence is the foundation of transformative leadership. By understanding and managing our emotions, while empathizing with others, we create space for collaboration, innovation, and equity that drives meaningful change.” – Teniqua Broughton, CEO, State of Black Arizona and AALI Facilitator

The African American Leadership Institute is committed to the individual development of African-American leaders to increase African-American participation in key civic, political, and workforce-related leadership roles.

AALI leverages collective power to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in our Black communities. We do this by increasing the number of African-American leaders and broadening the community’s awareness of a wider pool of capable, civic-minded African-American professionals.

The graduation ceremony for the 2024 cohort will take place at CFSA’s Campus on December 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
