We at CFSA are excited to share that our Local News Initiative (LNI) Advisory Committee Chair, Nancy Sharkey, is being honored at the (sold out) League of Women Voters’ Issues & Eggs Annual Fundraiser on March 6th from 8:00 am to 10:30 am at the Doubletree – Hilton Hotel Tucson at Reid Park! Congratulations to Nancy, along with the other honorees, which include CFSA friend and frequent collaborator Caitlin Schmidt of the Tucson Spotlight, co-founders Irene McKisson, Dianna M. Náñez, and Becky Pallack of the AZ Luminaria, and legendary local newscaster Lupita Murillo, who spent 46 years reporting for KVOA-TV. Both the Tucson Spotlight and AZ Luminaria have been prior recipients of LNI grants.
CFSA’s Local News Initiative of Southern Arizona brings together civic leaders, journalists, and community advocates committed to strengthening local news coverage in Tucson, Pima County, and Southern Arizona. The LNI Advisory Committee members share a vision of a well-informed community and are dedicated to expanding local reporting that reflects and serves our region.
