2025 Vital Nonprofit BLOOM Award Recipient

Recognizing the 2025 Vital Nonprofit BLOOM Award Recipient

The Vital Nonprofit BLOOM Award honors a Southern Arizona nonprofit that has made an exceptional impact in building a vibrant and equitable community. This award celebrates mission-driven, sustainable organizations that address essential needs, drive social change, and enhance the overall quality of life in our region.

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is proud to recognize Youth On Their Own (YOTO) as the 2025 recipient of the Vital Nonprofit BLOOM Award. Since 1986, YOTO has been dedicated to empowering youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County by helping them stay in school and graduate prepared for the future.

Through a combination of financial assistance, guidance, and support for basic needs, YOTO serves approximately 1,600 students each year. With an impressive 93% graduation rate among high school seniors in the program, the organization is creating lasting change and brighter futures for some of the region’s most vulnerable young people.

Congratulations to Youth On Their Own for their unwavering commitment to education, equity, and opportunity in Southern Arizona. Their work is vital to building a stronger, more resilient community for all.

Being selected as the 2025 Vital Nonprofit BLOOM Award winner is an incredible honor for everyone at YOTO! We’re so grateful to our team and our community for recognizing the important work we do to serve youth experiencing homelessness here in Pima County. Receiving recognition from the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) – a cornerstone of our Tucson nonprofit community – draws even more attention not only to YOTO’s work, but to the issues and challenges facing youth today. Thank you for this special honor.
