The LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, is pleased to launch its 2022 grant application and is announcing a two-year funding commitment for prospective grantees. Applications open on Monday, January 10th, 2022 and will be accepted through February 4th, 2022, at 5:00 pm MST.
Since 1999, the LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund, has awarded $1,025,957 to 72 organizations in support of Southern Arizona’s LGBTQ+ programs and initiatives. This year, the fund is transitioning to multi-year funding for the first time in the organization’s history.
“We are ecstatic to expand the Alliance Fund’s investment in our grantees to a two-year funding cycle,” said Kent Burbank, Chair of the LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund Board. “This increase is made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors who are eager to support the long-term sustainability of LGBTQ+ programming in Southern Arizona.”
The decision to implement a multi-year grants cycle was made by the Alliance Fund Advisory Board after listening closely to the needs of prior and current grantees.
“As Southern Arizona’s only dedicated LGBTQ+ philanthropic fund, we want our grantees to thrive and have more resources to keep their critical work going, ” said Alliance Fund Grants Committee Co-Chairs Jason Thorpe and Kim Kotov. “This new direction aligns with our mission to increase their organizational capacity and success.”
A virtual informational session covering LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund’s grantmaking priorities, application and renewal guidelines, and more is scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm. To register for this meeting, click here.
The maximum grant request is $10,000. Requests made for more than this amount will not be considered.
