Over the last few months, CFSA’s Community Investments Team met with twenty-one nonprofits throughout Southern Arizona to learn more about their missions and how CFSA can help to support their communities. Areas visited included Green Valley, Arivaca, Bisbee, Tubac, Safford, Hereford, and Willcox.
Kelly Huber, Senior Director of Community Investments at CFSA, shared, “Our team had the pleasure to visit several communities in Southern Arizona this Fall. What we see during these meetings are dedicated staff, die-hard volunteers, and deep creativity. While some might not be aware, CFSA serves many rural communities, and it is an important part of our work.” Huber continued, “Nothing can replace the opportunity to hear directly from people about the needs in their community. Our job is to listen, to learn, and to make connections that help move their work forward.”
Arivaca Action Center’s staff member, Jill, shared her experience and the impact of CFSA’s funding. “CFSA’s grants last year enabled us to hire an additional teacher assistant and give well-deserved pay raises to our exceptional Early Learning Staff. It is a testament to what a small number of dedicated people can accomplish with the support of organizations like CFSA.”
