CFSA Announces Partnership with Eller College of Management

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with The University of Arizona’s Eller Executive Education to provide nonprofit leadership and management training to local nonprofit professionals.

The partnership was established as part of CFSA’s COVID-19 response strategy to help local nonprofits recover from the impact of the pandemic. The program is scheduled to launch in January 2021.

CFSA’s President and CEO Clint Mabie shared, “As the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona moves forward with our response to COVID-19, we are proud to announce this partnership to provide our nonprofits with expert business planning and capacity-building support. The program will enable nonprofits to access free training from the esteemed faculty of the Eller College and allow for growth, adaptation, and sustainability during the pandemic and beyond.”

Through the nonprofit leadership and management training provided by Eller Faculty, nonprofits will be able to create plans for long-term sustainability, as well as build donor confidence during these turbulent times. In addition, nonprofit professionals will be eligible to receive a Leadership & Management Certificate from Eller Executive Education if they complete three of the six provided modules.

“Engaged learning and community connectivity are at the core of this new partnership,” said Joe Carella, assistant dean of Eller Executive Education. “We are honored to play a larger role in developing and nurturing nonprofit professionals in Southern Arizona and in offering this transformative experience that will equip them with skills and knowledge needed to take on the challenges of the 21st century.”

The six modules available to nonprofits in this certificate program include:

  • Understanding and Overcoming Your Leadership Derailers in Times of Stress and Uncertainty
  • Developing Resilience and Power in Turbulence through Sponsor and Mentor Networks
  • The Paradox of Leadership
  • Managing Business Models and Business Options through Turbulence and Change
  • Board Governance and Advancing Project Oversight
  • Value Creation for Long Term Sustainability

Program participants will receive additional support through webinars jointly hosted and facilitated by CFSA’s Center for Healthy Nonprofits and Eller Faculty. In addition, this partnership will connect local nonprofits with Tucson-based Eller Alumni and McGuire Center Nonprofit Innovation Faculty to provide pro bono consulting to help organizations adapt and innovate.

These trainings, consulting opportunities, and the certificate program will be provided free of charge to local nonprofits, thanks to community support provided by local individuals and organizations through the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.
