On Thursday, November 17, Solar United Neighbors and the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) released an RFP for solar installers on behalf of three local nonprofits. The Edge School, Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, and Youth on Their Own (YOTO). These organizations are three of the recipients of the first round of funding for the Nonprofit Solar Project.
As part of CFSA’s Environmental Sustainability Impact Fund, the Nonprofit Solar Project offers local nonprofits the opportunity to meet a significant portion of their energy needs through solar power. Through the switch to solar, nonprofits will be able to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs, freeing up resources for programming or other infrastructure needs.
SUN and CFSA have worked closely with each organization to develop this opportunity for solar on their property. The entire cost of each installation will be covered by funding provided through CFSA. There are three separate opportunities for installers to bid, one for each nonprofit. Installers can bid on all three projects.
Solar installers interested in bidding must send their proposals in by 5 PM on Friday, December 9. Installers can review the RFP here.
General questions can be directed to email@example.com. Questions specific to each nonprofit can be directed to the nonprofit contact listed in the RFP.
