Pat Parris spearheads “The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good” in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.
The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need. In addition, the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is matching the first $500 in donations each month. If you cannot give, you can still support our nonprofit community by sharing information about the project.
Amado Youth Center Gives Positive Life Skills to Southern Arizona’s Rural Youth
This July, the KGUN 9 Giving Project heads south of Tucson down I-19 to a new youth center aimed at serving young people in the rural area in and around Amado. Opened just two years ago, the Amado Youth Center has already become a key resource for youth in this part of Southern Arizona. During the summer, the center provides free breakfast, activities and life skills lessons.
Thank you to our generous viewers for supporting our June Giving Project with Honor Flight Southern Arizona. Your donation is helping this nonprofit provide resources to help send Southern Arizona’s veterans to Washington D.C. to experience the memorials honoring their service to the country.
