Pat Parris spearheads “The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good” in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.
The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need. In addition, the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is matching the first $500 in donations each month. If you cannot give, you can still support our nonprofit community by sharing information about the project.
This March KGUN 9 shines the spotlight on Tucson Indian Center, a nonprofit that has been serving the Native community living in the city since 1963.
The center sprung up from a large migration of Native Americans to Tucson post-World War II, in search of employment and healthcare, among other opportunities. Today, through grants and donations, TIC runs a clinic free for Native Americans who may not be able to afford primary care and behavioral health services otherwise.
