The Center for Healthy Nonprofits is excited to host a 4-part webinar, led by Domonic Rollins – Leading Inclusively: Identify & Community Development for Nonprofit Professional Staff
Domonic Rollins recently presented at our Reimaging Nonprofit Board Conference on the topic of Inclusion for Boards. We are excited to have him back to present a four-part series geared to nonprofit professional staff on the topic of Inclusion, Diversity, Equality and Access (IDEA). He will be offering four 90-minute virtual training sessions focused on the personal and professional identity journey for non-profit leaders in pursuit of creating more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations.
Each session will build on the preceding one. It is best if you can attend all four sessions. The registration links are included in each session description. These sessions will be recorded.

Session II: Who Are We as a Community
Understanding Socializing Forces, Data, & Information
Together, we share a collective experience – every day, we get up, eat, work, play, and go to bed. Yet, our individual experiences and what sense we make of them vary based on our identities and social location. Developing one’s capacity to understand experiences different from our own is the mark of a great leader and is necessary to lead inclusively. This session will focus on nonprofit leaders on considering how the cycle of socialization shaped them and others. Specifically addressing the ladder of inference, this session will draw out how our socialization impacts what we see and don’t as available data, thereby creating and constraining how we make decisions.

About Domonic Rollins
Domonic Rollins is an expert facilitator of inclusive organizational change. With a specific focus on creating conditions where marginalized people can thrive, Domonic aids leaders and organizations in engaging in difficult conversations about race, identity, and difference. He has served as the inaugural Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at The Dalton School located in New York City. In this role, Domonic provided leadership and oversight to develop a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy to support the fundamental Dalton principle that diverse beliefs, ethnicities, cultures, and lifestyles are a critical underpinning of successful education in today’s global society.
He also served as the inaugural Senior Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Harvard Graduate School of Education. In that role, Domonic provided leadership and vision for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion at HGSE, in alignment with school-wide priorities. Domonic executed a broad range of strategic and tactical activities related to the identification, development, and delivery of diversity and inclusion initiatives for faculty, students, and staff. A hallmark of his work there and presently is translating big ideas about diversity and inclusion into practical solutions and considerations for organizations and interpersonal relationships.
Prior to joining HGSE, Domonic was the senior education and training specialist in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Maryland. He earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Education Policy from the University of Maryland–College Park, where his dissertation research investigated how Black male administrators navigate racism in higher education.
