Demystifying Grant Writing: Part II: A Workshop to Sharpen Your Writing Skills

March 6, 2025 |  1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | CF Campus

The Demystifying Grant Writing Workshops in 2024 were so powerful and in high demand that this workshop was created in response to people asking for more!

Writing a grant can be a challenging process, and certain sections often prove to be the most difficult due to their complexity and the level of detail required. Mastering these sections requires thorough research, careful planning, and alignment with the funder’s goals and expectations. Above all, the grant must be written in a concise and compelling manner that piques the interest of the reviewer, compelling them to support your organization.

During this four-hour workshop, participants will engage in interactive dialog, breaking down the parts of the grant process that are the most difficult to address, learning strategies to make a logical, compelling argument for funding, and conducting peer reviews of writing samples.

Attendees will leave the workshop knowing how to craft their grant language for use in future submissions.

Requirements for participation:

  • Attendance at a previous Demystifying Grant Writing Workshop.
  • Submission of required homework by February 20 (two weeks before the March 6 workshop). If homework is not submitted on time, then your spot will be offered to someone on the waiting list. This is a very important piece of the workshop, and this process ensures everyone comes prepared to work and learn. But no need to stress! Homework questions will be provided shortly after registration so you will have plenty of time to prepare! registration.
  • Willingness to have your work reviewed by a peer reviewer and the workshop facilitator.

This workshop will be facilitated by Lynda Weigel-Firor, a seasoned independent grant writer and consultant with over 25 years of experience. Lynda has played a pivotal role in helping numerous organizations secure millions of dollars through successful grants, capital campaigns, major gift acquisitions, and special events.

Lynda will offer workshop attendees a two-hour one-on-one coaching session at a reduced rate!
