Impactful Philanthropy Bloom Award: Diana Charbonneau
Diana Charbonneau is a native Tucsonan who works as a Corporate Learning Facilitator at Tucson Electric Power and is passionate about reinvesting in her community.
Diana is a dedicated volunteer who has contributed her time to over 25 local nonprofit organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Tucson as Immediate Past President. She is part of the Leadership Team for 100+ Women Who Care Tucson.
Reflecting on her contributions, Diana expresses deep gratitude for being recognized with the BLOOM award. She emphasizes that her path of volunteerism was not premeditated but rather a natural progression of giving back and paying it forward, inspired by those who have invested in her. As a mother to a 5-year-old daughter, Diana underscores the importance of being a servant leader and setting a positive example by actively engaging in community service.
Diana’s commitment to service and leadership exemplifies the values of giving back and fostering a sense of community responsibility, inspiring others to follow suit.
Vital Nonprofit Bloom Award: Youth On Their Own

Since 1986, Youth On Their Own (YOTO) has been helping youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County graduate from high school and build futures for themselves and their families. With around 1,600 youth enrolling in the program each year and a 93% senior graduation rate, we know YOTO is having a strong, positive impact on our community! Learn more about YOTO at yoto.org.

Igor Gorin Memorial Award: James McCarthy

Most recently, I was an Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera, where I performed the roles of Zuniga in Carmen and Second Armored Man in The Magic Flute. I am a graduate of Rice University (M.M.) where I performed the roles of Frank Maurrant in Street Scene, Seneca in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, and Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin, and of the University of Rochester (B.M./B.S.), where I performed the roles of Masetto in Don Giovanni and Mercurio in L’Incoronazione di Poppea. This award means the world to me and affords me so many opportunities that I would otherwise not be able to pursue!
