TeamUp Returns: Consulting Support for Nonprofits at a Crucial Time

Since it launched in 2021, the TeamUp Program from the Center for Healthy Nonprofits has been a valuable resource for small nonprofits in Southern Arizona. Designed to remove one of the biggest barriers to organizational growth, TeamUp connects nonprofits with local consultants and coaches for up to 20 hours of fully underwritten support. The result is stronger infrastructure, more confident leadership, and a clearer path forward for organizations doing vital work in their communities.

Now more than ever, this kind of support matters. Many nonprofits are facing rising demand for services while also dealing with leadership transitions, staff burnout, and tighter budgets. Some are navigating serious funding cuts. Others are trying to adapt to changing community needs with limited resources. TeamUp was built for exactly these moments. When organizations need expert guidance but can’t afford it, a well-timed outside perspective can make the difference between surviving and thriving.

In 2025, the program is focusing even more intentionally on nonprofits at key points in their development. This includes organizations going through transitions like welcoming new leadership, shifting from a working board to a governing board, creating a strategic plan, or exploring partnerships or mergers. By concentrating on these critical moments, TeamUp offers practical support where it can have the biggest impact.

The impact of this program goes beyond one-time consulting. Many organizations walk away with stronger systems, new tools, and lasting partnerships. Jenny Carrillo of Alexander | Carrillo Consulting has seen it happen repeatedly. “What inspires me is that these connections are often new relationships that turn into new collaborations,” she said. “Or new ideas that turn into new solutions for community issues. There’s a real palpable sense of collaboration within the physical space or the virtual space, of all of these different groups that are meeting or partnerships that are developed through TeamUp.”

If your organization is facing change, uncertainty, or a tough funding landscape, TeamUp may be exactly the support you need to move forward with clarity and confidence.
