Tucson nonprofits unite over proposed federal funding cuts impacting aid

Southern Arizona nonprofits are facing a challenging time as federal funding cuts threaten their operations. Wednesday, six local nonprofits came together to emphasize their urgent need for support amid these proposed budget reductions.

These organizations, although offering different resources, share a common goal: supporting the Southern Arizona community. However, they express concern that their mission is at risk due to the proposed budget cuts.

“Reductions in funding are not just cuts on paper. They would translate directly into reduced services, fewer programs and diminished capacity to meet the growing needs of our neighbors,” said Jenny Flynn, president of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.
