Nonprofits in Arizona worry about more federal funding cuts

The “Big Beautiful Bill” could lead to widespread reduction of funding for several groups in southern Arizona.
The budget bill, which is being discussed in Congress, is the centerpiece of President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda. House Speaker Mike Johnson has said lawmakers may have to work through the Fourth of July holiday to get it passed and on Trump’s desk.
Some of the Tucson-area nonprofits that could be impacted hosted a news conference Wednesday to talk about the expected cuts.
They said working at a nonprofit right now is not an easy task.
