1-Year of Solutions-Focused Community Book Club

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) is thrilled to reflect on 1-year of the Solutions-Focused Community Book Club.

The Solutions-Focused Community Book Club was created to bring together interested community members from all walks of life to bond over a shared desire to make our community better for all – and be inspired by a shared reading experience! When we started the book club last summer, we knew that we wouldn’t be able to solve all the world’s (or Southern Arizona’s) problems, but we had a vision of people connecting, learning from each other, and building momentum toward positive change.

8 Books • 576 Participants • 12 Local Expert Panelists

Over the past year, we have shared food, drinks, books, and inspiring conversations. We have read 8 books, welcomed 576 participants, and heard from 12 local expert panelists. We’ve created a unique structure of finding books relevant to our community while alternating between fiction and non-fiction. This has allowed our book club participants to learn more about issues our community faces through a variety of perspectives. Our local expert panelists have brought different perspectives and welcomed community questions. Best of all, our community has grown through reading, learning, and discussing topics that affect our community.

What are we reading next?
