The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is now accepting grant applications to support refugees, veterans, and student career development through the Phil and Carol Lyons Family Fund, a donor-advised fund of CFSA, and the Lyons Children’s Refugee Assistance Fund, a field of interest fund of CFSA.
Lyons Children’s Refugee Assistance Fund
CFSA invites nonprofit organizations in Tucson to submit an application for programs/projects that serve refugees children and families to address their most urgent needs, including behavioral health support, K-12 refugee education, medical case management, employment opportunities, emergency housing/rental support, and support to gain citizenship.
Proposals must fall within established guidelines; only one application will be accepted per organization, and applications are limited to a maximum of $5,000. The grant period is for one year, from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.
Applications open Thursday, July 21, 2022. The deadline to submit grant applications is Friday, August 19, 2022, at 5:00 PM.

Phil and Carol Lyons Family Fund Grants
The Lyons’ family invites nonprofit organizations in Tucson and Flagstaff to submit an application for programs/projects that align with one of the following focus areas:
- Programs/projects that help students and adults (especially from minority backgrounds, first-generation, traditionally underrepresented populations, economically disadvantaged, and single mothers) develop career advancement skills and employment opportunities in order to become self-sufficient, create economic opportunity and succeed in life.
- Programs/projects that help veterans and their families access services they need in order to thrive.
Proposals must fall within established guidelines; only one application will be accepted per organization, and applications are limited to a maximum of $5,000. The grant period is for one year, from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.
