CFSA Announces Additional $20,000 in COVID-19 Support

In partnership with our generous donors and supporters, the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona is pleased to announce that an additional $20,000 in COVID-19 relief funding has been awarded to Catholic Community Services (CCS) to support their Casa Alitas Program.

The Casa Alitas Program serves migrant families who have traveled from their homes to escape violence and poverty. Families are given a safe place to rest, rehydrate, eat, and care for their children. The program also provides a change of clothes, hygiene items, baby food and diapers, and overnight shelter if needed until they can be reunited with family members in the U.S.

Teresa Cavendish, Director of Operations for CCS, shared, “We are grateful for the support from CFSA which will allow us to continue to provide hope, hospitality, and humanitarian aid to asylum-seekers during this very challenging time of COVID-19.  Our shared work touches the must vulnerable who come to us.”
