CFSA Establishes Emergency Relief Fund
The Fund will offer disaster response to Southern Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz., (May 17, 2018) – The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) announced today they have established the Southern Arizona Emergency Relief Fund to help ensure rapid and effective assistance in the aftermath of an emergency or major disaster in Southern Arizona. Examples of disaster for purposes of the Fund include but are not limited to major wildfires; weather calamities such as heavy rains and floods; industrial accidents; or acts of terrorism.
“CFSA has been connecting donors to causes they care about for nearly 40 years. Given last summer ’s wildfire disasters in the region and the needs emergencies generate, we are announcing the creation of the Southern Arizona Emergency Relief Fund,” said Clint Mabie, CFSA’s President and CEO. “This vehicle will allow our community to pool its resources to meet the urgent needs of those affected to recover and rebuild for the long term.”
CFSA along with its Board of Trustees will determine the most efficient and equitable way to make grants by evaluating several factors to ensure that funds are allocated to the organizations directly addressing the emergency in an impactful way.
