Details: Getting donors to give again and again is a major challenge for large institutions and small charities alike. For many groups, more than half of all donors don’t come back from one year to the next.  Colleges and universities are not immune either; alumni giving fell by 8.5 percent last year.

How are some organizations bucking this trend by increasing giving rates and raising more money?

Join The Chronicle of Philanthropy and learn from experienced fundraisers at two organizations that are attracting more annual gifts. They’ll share creative approaches to keep donors giving and attract new contributors as well.

Meg Weber, who oversees annual giving at Colorado State University, has increased alumni giving rates by 48 percent since taking the job six years ago. She will share advice for inspiring more alumni to give and share tactics that help raise more revenue overall. Ms. Weber also will explain how and why frequent solicitations boost giving and share tactics that work well for nonprofits programs of all sizes. She’ll also make the case that advancement professionals should adapt

some of the innovative approaches college admissions officers employ and use them to connect with donors.

You’ll also learn from Josh Silva, digital fundraising manager at Oxfam, who will share examples and insights into his organization’s digital strategy to attract new online supporters, get them to take action throughout the year, and ultimately ask them for gifts at year’s end. He’ll also explain how the group capitalizes on current events to rally supporters to give, and he’ll offer tips for smaller groups to do the same.

Both speakers will share examples, strategies, and concepts from their successful Giving Tuesday campaigns to inspire your year-end fundraising.
