“There is no problem that we can’t solve if we corral our resources behind it. That means people. That means money. That means the good will and cooperation of a large segment of people.” -Coretta Scott King
Earlier this year, a group of African American community leaders met with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona to develop more current and future charitable resources for the African American community. The result is the African American Initiative (AAI).
The African American Initiative has a simple goal: direct dollars and foster collaboration among organizations and individuals serving the most pressing needs in the African American and greater Tucson community.
To seed this historic effort, we are launching a $1 million endowment campaign to provide permanent charitable resources to the community, ensuring that funds for collaboration are available. As you consider your gift, remember your generosity will inspire others.
