Giving effectively can change lives.
Arizona Public Media recently dedicated a segment to health care in Pima County and featured the Mobile Health Clinic – a program cofounded by Martha Ortiz and a part of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UA’s College of Medicine, which brings medical care to those who are unable to access it. Martha and her late husband, Augusto Ortiz, have a fund with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona called the Stay Well Fund.
According to Martha, the Mobile Health program is funded by a range of donors, including the Ortiz Endowment. Its mission is to empower underserved communities by developing sustainable systems that increase access to health promotion, disease prevention and health care services.
